Blue-grey dash cushion cover 50x50cm

45.00

We're mad about the watercolour finish of this blue-grey shade. We recommend mixing up cushion sizes- a 40x60cm rectangle with a 50x50cm square- to create a lively layered effect.

  • 50x50cm pure cotton cushion cover by Tensira
  • Entirely handmade in Guinea, West Africa
  • The dash motif on this cushion cover is created with a traditional Guinean resist-dyeing technique, where pieces of string are carefully sewn on before the textile is dyed, then removed to reveal the desired pattern
  • Button closure on back
  • Machine wash cold or at 30° Celcius, gentle detergent, line dry
  • Cushion insert not included

We were first drawn to Tensira by the distinct softness of their hand-woven Kas cotton. Thick and durable yet loose and supple, this unusual quality can best be described as inviting. Their designs combine the understated minimalism of Scandinavian aesthetics with traditional West African patterns, making them an easy fit for any home.

Tensira products are a perfect reflection of the philosophy of founders Tuulia Makinen and Hamidou Diallo, who have built their brand based on fair trade, preserving the artisanal know-how of traditional African craftsmanship, and of course, all-natural fabrics created with personal attention. Tensira’s textiles are entirely handmade in West Africa by a small team of highly-skilled artisans.
